Every Brain Belongs | Monday Invocation

July is Disability Pride Month, which is a time to recognize the history, achievements, experiences, and struggles of people with various physical, emotional, and psychological abilities. Disability Pride Month affirms that disability is a natural part of human diversity, not a deficit or condition that requires fixing.

However, many times we fail to recognize that church worship services unintentionally leave neurodivergent folks feeling disconnected. Not because God isn’t present, but because the space isn’t built with neurodiverse brains in mind. For LGBTQ+ Christians with ADHD and other neurodiverse diagnoses or experiences, worship can feel more like endurance than sanctuary.

If you missed it, we had an interactive breakout session that invited pastors, worship leaders, and community members to reimagine worship through a neurodivergent-affirming lens. Presenter Erin Mieskowski drew on nearly 20 years of experience in adult education, facilitation, and church consulting. She shared practical strategies and real-world examples of congregations that became more vibrant when accessibility was prioritized. Through these models, every mind can meet God without shame, exhaustion, or exclusion.

Watch the session and bring it back to your community!
