Book Study: Jesus and the Disinherited

Join us for a thoughtful and engaging QCF Community Group book study on Jesus and the Disinherited by Howard Thurman. In this powerful and deeply relevant work, Thurman explores the teachings of Jesus through the lens of people who have experienced oppression, exclusion, fear, and injustice. Together, we will reflect on how faith can become a source of liberation, dignity, healing, and courage for marginalized communities, including LGBTQ+ people navigating spirituality and belonging today. This group will offer space for honest conversation, reflection, and connection as we journey through the book together. Whether you are new to Thurman’s work or revisiting it with fresh eyes, you are welcome here. Come ready to listen, learn, wrestle with meaningful questions, and explore what it means to follow a faith rooted in love, justice, and hope.

Led by: Rev. Phoenix Bell-Shelton & Richard Hinchman

Sexuality & Spirituality

The Sexuality and Spirituality Group provides a supportive community to gather and address questions and topics specific to those who are seeking spiritual formation in the midst of discerning their personal sexual ethic. This Affinity Group acts as a safe, conversational space with others to process the feelings and potential obstacles individuals may experience in coming out as an LGBTQ+ Christian, and spends some time concentrating on what are known as the LGBTQ+ “Clobber Passages” in scripture.

Led by: Ashley Lynn Hengst & Jess Ferris

Bible Study: Clobber Passages

Q Christian Fellowship has created this Clobber Passage-focused Bible Study Group to provide a supportive community to gather and address questions, topics and passages in the Bible that are used as an argument against LGBTQ+ affirmation within the context of the Christian faith. This study group is a safe, conversational space to process, wonder, and discover information about the Biblical text and its implication(s) for LGBTQ+ Christians.

Led by: Rev. Stephen Scott & Leeza Finch

God is building a home. They are using us all—irrespective of how we got here—in what They are building. God used the apostles and prophets for the foundation. Now God is using you, fitting you in brick by brick, stone by stone, with Christ Jesus as the cornerstone that holds all the parts together.
