Search Me, O [Algorithm], and Know My Heart

What can artificial intimacy teach us about the very human ways we've gotten relationships—and maybe even faith—wrong?

In our August EDI gathering, we will consider relationships with ChatBots, Jesus Bots, Sex Robots, and Robot Priests. Dr. Wes King will guide us as we explore assumptions about caregiving, romance, interdependence, and sex that surface in current research on human-technology companionship and artificial intimacy. We will discuss ways artificial intimacy might help us question cultural programming that has given us harmful expectations about dating, friendship, romance, sexuality, and spirituality.

During this session, we encourage you to identify at least one assumption about intimate relationships that you are questioning. Artificial intimacy is an emerging phenomenon, so expect to leave with more questions than answers!

We hope you will join a supportive group of people who are passionate about learning the nuances of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging. Whether you're new or seasoned, we hope you'll find a home here with us. This gathering will take place on Sunday, August 2, at 7:00pm ET and welcomes LGBTQ+ people and allies.
