Welcoming Our New Board Members

The Board of Directors of the Gay Christian Network is pleased to announce the addition of four new members to the GCN board:

Darren Calhoun is the worship leader at Urban Village Church in Chicago.  He works with Evangelicals for Social Action, the Center for Inclusivity, and the Reformation Project.Megan He also sings with the progressive Christian band, The Many.

Megan DeFranza is a theologian, author and speaker on the forefront of conversations related to Christianity, sex, gender and sexuality. She is the president of Intersex and Faith, Inc. and holds two masters degrees from Gordon-Conwell Seminary and a PhD from Marquette University.  

Wendy Gritter is the executive director of Generous Space Ministries in Mississauga, Ontario.  She holds a Master of Divinity degree from Tyndale Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Knox College, Toronto School of Theology.  Wendy has been extensively involved with the Christian Reformed Church, including serving on the board of Calvin Seminary and on the Study Committee addressing Same Sex Marriage.

Heather Nelson is the Founding Executive Director of Khesed Wellness, a non-profit organization focusing on mental health and wellness in Denver, Colorado.  Heather holds a masters degree from Denver Seminary, and serves on the preaching team at Highlands Church in Denver.  She also serves on the board of Open Launch, a national church planting ministry.

We are thrilled to be able to add such a competent, diverse and capable group of leaders to the Board of Directors of GCN.  We have exciting work before us, and we believe these additions to our board increase our collective expertise and wisdom as we lead this important ministry into the future.
